The Guangzhou Charge have acquired Flex Tank Hyung-seok "Bischu" "Aaron" Kim and main Tank Joona "Fragi" Laine from Los Angeles Gladiators and Philadelphia Fusion respectively as part of a series of trades that have seen their former DPS player Finley "Kyb" Adisi traded over to the latter.
The two recent acquisitions come as a surprise to many as both have developed into fan favorites of each team. Fraggi developed into a fan favorite through his performance in the first half of 2018 while Bischu helped the team develop a strong balance between the Korean and American players as a liaison for communication in the Gladiators.
As for KYB, the British DPS Player joined the Guangzhou charge as part of the team's inaugural lineup where he spent the majority of the time acting as the backup DPS Player and will likely assume the same role on Philadelphia Fusion.
In a recent press release from the Los Angeles Gladiators, the team thanked the longtime player for his contributions to the team.
“I've been working with Bischu for 2.5 years now, the longest of any player I've worked with, and it's been an absolute joy to have him on the team for every single second." Head coach David "dpei" Pei commented. "He'll always be a great friend, and with all great friends, I wish him the absolute best.”
For the Fusion side, the Philly based organization posted a video on twitter to thank their longtime player as he makes the transition to a new team.
Both players will make their way into unfamiliar territory as this will be the first move away from their original teams since joining the Overwatch League in 2018.
“I'm really sad to leave Gladiators. I love my teammates, staff, and the fans so, so much and I'll be missing everyone. However, I'm super excited for this new opportunity! Can't wait until I get back on the stage with Guangzhou Charge!” stated Bischu.
The newly acquired players will look to lead the Guangzhou Charge through Stage Four starting July 25th, with hopes to land one of those coveted playoff spots.
